Weldinwg Gases

The process of joining parts by using heat and pressure separately or together is called welding. In welding processes, shielding gases have the following functions.

  • Prevention of atmospheric gases from entering the arc and weld pool
  • Creation and stability of the Ark
  • Obtaining quality seams with materials with weak welding tendencies
  • Ability to work with high melting efficiencies and penetration depths
  • Choosing the appropriate method for part thicknesses and constructions and switching to automatic applications

Shielding gas types are divided into two.

Inert Gas

  • Argon
  • Helium

Active Gas

  • Oxygen
  • Carbon dioxide

These gases are mixed with each other with appropriate production methods in order to carry out appropriate welding processes with the gases mentioned above.
